Privacy Policy

This policy explains what YT Highlighter (“we”, “the extension”), operated by Vijay Vinayagamoorthi (Yaybit), collects and why. We collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

• Your Google account basics — your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account ID, when you choose “Sign in with Google”. We use them only to create your account and show who is signed in. We never see your Google password.
• What you save — the YouTube video ID, time stamps, clip start/end, your notes, a small picture of the video frame you saved, and the video title, channel, categories and tags. This is stored so your library works on all your computers.
• Payment records — when you buy Pro, Razorpay processes the payment. We store the plan, amount, date and Razorpay’s payment reference. We never receive or store your card, UPI PIN or bank details.
• Technical data — a device label (e.g. “Windows”), sign-in times, and short-lived counters used to stop abuse (rate limits).

What we do not collect

We do not collect your YouTube watch history, browsing history, search history, or anything from pages other than the YouTube video you are saving on. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.

Where it is stored

Your data is stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers and D1 database), and a copy is kept in your browser so the extension works quickly and offline. Data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.

Who we share it with

• Cloudflare — hosting and storage.
• Razorpay — payment processing, only when you pay.
• Google — only to confirm your sign-in.
• Notion — only if you connect your own Notion workspace; moments are then sent directly from your browser to Notion.

We may disclose data if required by Indian law.

How long we keep it

Your saved moments are kept until you delete them or delete your account. Deleted items are fully removed from our servers within 60 days. Payment records are kept as required for accounting and tax purposes.

Your choices

• Download all your data any time: Library → Settings → “Download a backup file”.
• Delete moments, or delete your whole account: Library → Settings → “Delete my account”. This erases your saved content. We keep only the number of free videos you have used (to prevent abuse of the free plan) and payment records.
• Sign out removes your data from that computer.

Children

YT Highlighter is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
